Doctors Visit.

Went to the doctors today for check-up and they told me the wound was worst not better. The wound has opened up even more and the infection gotten worst. They put me off work through the 12th of August now and have me doing what they call a wet and dry packing on it ( which is changing the dressing from a wet pack to a dry pack every four to six hours and nothing during the nighttime to let it air out and breath ). I also have to use Hydrogen Peroxide and water ( 50-50 % ) solution on it twice daily to help the infection clear out. It just doesn't look all that good to me but then I'm not a doctor and not making the big bucks for those decisions. Since lying on the couch is all I can do I've been watching alot of hunting and fishing shows on tv on the Outdoor Channel, writing blogs in my website booklet ( which I need to post to my hunting site ) and sleeping alot of the time. I 've been doing paid surveys online but they all want you to buy something or try something free for a fourteen day trial, so I guess I be giving this idea up of making money at home with the internet. I can't win from losing any more. Depression starting to set in some now I think so I'll close till the next doctors visit or I feel like writing something else.

I'm sorry to hear you're still not better. Hopefully this round will kick the infection and get you on the road to healing up.

I'll keep a good thought for you.

Kristine; Though it's still not any better I've gotten to the point that I have to return to work or face losing my job. I go back to the doctors tuesday at 1:00p.m. and will be requesting a light duty work return notice in hopes of being able to do some kind of work even with the open wound on my upper thigh. If this doesn't work for all parties involved then I guess I'll lose my job anyway. Thanks so much for all your great concern, thoughts and comments. This blog has been my only way of remaining stable and somewhat sane to carry on with my dull live.

So sorry to hear of the problems you are having with the recovery.

I understand - I don't heal well either... it is always a major concern any time I have a medical procedure done or get hurt.

I'm not a doctor but a couple of the things my very old fashioned doctor who has since retired that prescribed that we keep doing that work are wrapping the area with towel soaked in as hot as you can stand it water with Epson salts (we also use an epson salt soak when the dogs get hurt... :) our old fashioned vet recommended that) and I use Silvadine anti-bacterial cream (it is prescription only, commonly referred to as burn cream - I'm allergic to Neosporin and this works much better anyway). Just a couple of things to ask your doctor about that have worked for me. I was in the same shoes you're in with a job a few years ago when I was stung by a bee and developed a huge sore and etc... like most people get from a brown recluse spider bite, that's when we found out that the epson salt soak worked good for people too.

Deerslayer - sorry to hear you are having problems with a wound. I just got over having an opened wound as an indirect result of my knee surgery and actually was my 4th wound. I ended up getting a strep infection and on antibiotics and from there had to have my leg operated on and veins stripped. From there 2 steriod dose paks...It finally stopped leaking and healed. Had to stay in bed a lot with my leg elevated. It will be a month and half since I have been to the wound clinic. I was going every week for 3 months and I can relate to the depression. My blog helped me a lot also. Hang in there my friend. I don't want to scare you here but it could be your job or your life. You don't want septic poisoning to set in.

I just popped by on a visit from Krisine's blog.

I hope you feel better soon,I know what it is like to feel uncomfortable, tired, and stir-crazy all at once, it can be really depressing. I hope you feel better and that your work displays some measure of understanding.

MICHELLE RENE; Thank you for stopping by and visiting my site. The depression is the bad part, not being able to do anything for yourself. You really feel helpless and dependent on everyone for something you need or want.

Take care - I hope you begin to feel better soon - sounds really crumby what you're going through.

I really enjoyed your 'Wading Creeks and Streams' post. I am a 'very-infrequent-and-amateur' fisher, but this gave me a few good ideas. Also your resource links are great, thanks for sharing.

Good fishing,
Mungo

Mungo Says Bah!; I don't recall seeing any comments from you before but I sure am glad that you stopped in for a visit and hope you'll be back regularly. I'm also glad to here you got some ideas from one of my post, thats one reason I started writing them and as for the links their all top notch in my book and are all well worth the time to check out and link up to each and every one of them. Just remember to ask for their permission first. My wound is alot better now but I still have to be careful till it completely heals up. Again thanks for the visit and hope to see you back soon.
